Booking the best Oak Island vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. To get the best value, shift your family's Wrightsville Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Wrightsville Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your family commit to date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Updated home near the beach with fenced yard, grill, central AC, & washer\/dryer has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Wrightsville Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
