Strategies to get the best Wrightsville Beach rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wrightsville Beach area. To book the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Wrightsville Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. 5min to Attractions, Shops & Beach + Yard Games has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
