Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Wrightsville Beach rental & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wrightsville Beach area. Book your Wrightsville Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Breezes: Vintage Oceanfront Home on Oak Island's Coveted West End has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
