Oak Island rental booking tips:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • To start, have your family select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. New! Pet-Friendly Ocean View Cottage Across from Beach Access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Wrightsville Beach beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
