We are committed to keeping Oak Island as pristine and handsome for our guests as possible. We have started by installing solar panels, turtle-friendly lighting, and an EV charger and adding household items like reusable drink containers, wine glasses out of sustainable materials, reusable paper towels and drink napkins. We plan to continue to add items that will preserve the environment as we can. With a pristine shore and the prospect of another turtle nest and infant turtles heading out to sea as our inspiration, we are committed to an eco-friendly home and preserving Oak Island's beauty.

Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Oak Island vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Finding the best rental in Oak Island:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Just Beachy: A Serene Beachfront Escape on Oak Island has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
