How to find the best Bald Head Island vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer is high season in Bald Head Island. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and picking the bestrental:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Incredible Marshfront Views in Keepers Landing, Dock, Fishing, Crabbing, BHI & Shoals Club has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach destination you long to visit, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
