Tips and Tricks to get the best Wrightsville Beach vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Book your Wrightsville Beach rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Rustic 1960's Oceanfront Cottage With Modern Updates has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
