Rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Happy Place - Beautiful 4 bedroom - South Beach, 6 Sandspur Trail has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
