Rental booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Cozy condo across from Ocean Isle Beach with 3 pools and tennis courts. has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
