Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • To find the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the best Wrightsville Beach rental home:

  • To start, have your group choose a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 262 Dad's Place by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
