Tips and Tricks for getting the best vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Wrightsville Beach area. Booking your Wrightsville Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose a perfectrental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Classic beach cottage on beautiful Wrightsville Beach. 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a specific Wrightsville Beach attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
