Everything you need in a home! We have an open floor plan with the main living and master suite downstairs. The master bedroom has a king size bed and roomy bathroom. Upstairs are two more bedrooms with a shared bath. The second bedroom has a king bed and the third bedroom has 2 twins. Outside is a separate room (crofter). Our unique crofter has a full kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and dining area. There is a queen bed, a queen murphy bed and a bathroom. There is plenty of room for another family! The outside space is just as nice! We have a great screened in porch and plenty of outdoor space with our fenced in back yard. We also have a 4 and a 6 passenger cart. We have thought of everything to make your stay with us ideal and memorable!

About the Area

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Cape Fear Station, a neighborhood in Bald Head Island. Smith Island Museum of History and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Kent Mitchell Nature Trail and The Clubs at St. James. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Bald Head Island Information Center are also worth visiting. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including wildlife walks.

How to get the best value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Wrightsville Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. text the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
