Our top Holden Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wrightsville Beach area. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. The Captain's Quarters - Oceanfront 2 Bedroom Home has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Additional considerations:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
