Tricks and tips to get the best vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Reserve your vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking a perfectrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Surfer's Bungalow! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
