Notes: There is a locked closet off the main bedroom and the garage is locked. Dogs live in this home and as much as we try our best to remove all traces, there occasionally may be remnants of our fluffy friends about. Therefore, if you are allergic to dogs this home may not be for you. We are also close to the coast and the backyard is wooded and there may occasionally be pests or spiders that make their way into the home. The home was constructed in the 1970s, although refreshed, the plumbing is sensitive.
This is our home, so please treat it as if it were yours as well.

Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Wrightsville Beach area. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking a perfectvacation home:

  • First, have your group decide on the best dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Quiet oasis minutes from the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
