Getting the best vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose the best Wrightsville Beach vacation home:
- First, have your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Barking Allowed! \nPet friendly studio, located right next to dog spa! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
