Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose and book the right Wrightsville Beach rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Life's a Beach - walk to everything in historic Carolina Beach! by RedAwning has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
