Tips to get the best Wrightsville Beach rental home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Wrightsville Beach rental:

  • Start by having your family commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Newly updated, desirable Villa next to BHI Club has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
