Strategies to get the optimal vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your Wrightsville Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Wrightsville Beach area:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Quintessential BHI escape. NEW! Updated Beach House has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
