The Lazy Lookout has the ideal location for everybody! It has pretty vistas of the ocean and Ocean Crest Pier. Right across the street from the 9th street beach access, which accepts you to step onto the beach in 30 seconds :) Also, the home is located right across the street from the 9th street walkway which is by far my favorite spot to watch the sunset and the Davis Canal!

The home itself has a beautiful front porch with a porch swing and rocking chairs, the ideal coffee spot for your friends and family! The crowd favorite is your own personal bar, The Lazy Lookout Parlor. This unique outdoor area comes with a full-sized refrigerator, an ice machine, and even a 60 inch intelligent TV.

Also, we have included surfboards, body boards, loads of sand toys, and beach games to make sure you get the most out of Oak Island! There is also complimentary wifi, intelligent tv's, and board games for when you want to relax inside. We ask that you bring your own sheets and towels or there is an option to add linen services 30 days before your arrival. The linen service includes fresh sheets and towels for the price of $150. If you find that during your stay you need fresh clothes or towels there is a laundry room downstairs for your use. It is supplied with laundry detergent and dryer sheets! Our Kitchen is completely outfitted with everything you might need! However, we do not have a dishwasher, but plan on adding that next winter. Our number one goal is for you to have one of the best vacations yet, and to feel completely at home!

How to get the best Oak Island vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Oak Island. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best rental home in the Wrightsville Beach area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Loving the Lazy Lookout ??Beachview\/Access and Pet Friendly??4BR, 2 BA has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
