The Lazy Lookout has the ideal location for everybody! It has impressive vistas of the ocean and Ocean Crest Pier. Right across the street from the 9th street beach access, which accepts you to step onto the beach in 30 seconds :) Also, the home is located right across the street from the 9th street walkway which is by far my favorite spot to watch the sunset and the Davis Canal!

The home itself has a handsome front porch with a porch swing and rocking chairs, the ideal coffee spot for your friends and family! The crowd favorite is your own personal bar, The Lazy Lookout Parlor. This unique outdoor area comes with a full-sized refrigerator, an ice machine, and even a 60 inch intelligent TV.

Also, we have included surfboards, body boards, loads of sand toys, and beach games to make sure you get the most out of Oak Island! There is also complimentary wifi, intelligent tv's, and board games for when you want to relax inside. We ask that you bring your own sheets and towels or there is an option to add linen services 30 days before your arrival. The linen service includes fresh sheets and towels for the price of $150. If you find that during your stay you need fresh clothes or towels there is a laundry room downstairs for your use. It is supplied with laundry detergent and dryer sheets! Our Kitchen is entirely supplied with everything you might need! However, we do not have a dishwasher, but plan on adding that next winter. Our number one goal is for you to have one of the best vacations yet, and to feel completely at home!

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Oak Island Golf Club and The Reserve Golf Club at St. James Plantation are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport.

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.

  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
