You will have a choice of guest memberships at either BHI Club or the Shoals Club. The BHI membership is Lifestyle with golf available. You will be close to the marina, stores and eateries located in that part of the island.


Get out on the water! Take a calming a relaxing walk in Bald Head Creek and savor the wildlife and tranquility of the marsh. This Must Be The Place provides 2 kayaks, a huge canoe and a Stand Up Paddle Board. The Kayaks are located right across the street in the Kayak Launch area, no having to haul kayaks around.

Smith Island Museum of History and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum. When to go & When to reserve a Wrightsville Beach rental home:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your Wrightsville Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.

  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review.
