Our top Oak Island vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Wrightsville Beach area. To get the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Wrightsville Beach restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Heron-Hide-Away \/ 2534 Marsh Hen Drive - Coastal Vacation Resorts has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Wrightsville Beach beach you crave, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
