Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:

Sticking to a budget:

  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wrightsville Beach area. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in Oak Island:

  • To start, have your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 4 BR\/3.5 BA HOME-Beautifully Decorated-Sleeps 9 has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
