Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Wrightsville Beach vacation property experience:

Find your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Wrightsville Beach. Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sand Castle - Spacious stand alone home on the south end has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
