Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick the perfectrental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beachhaven Delightful Beach Cottage One Row Back Reno'd Baths & All Carpet Gone! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Wrightsville Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
