Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Wrightsville Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit Wilmington & When to reserve a rental home:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Wrightsville Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Wrightsville Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
