Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Get the best value:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Oak Island. Booking your Wrightsville Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Comfy beach home with central AC, private W\/D, and short walk to beach access has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
