Our top Rental home booking tips:

When to book a Wrightsville Beach rental & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Oak Island. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Wrightsville Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Wrightsville Beach rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. A Sloth's Retreat: Beach Home with Private Pool, Game Room and More! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
