Oak Island vacation rental tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wrightsville Beach area. Reserve your Wrightsville Beach rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to pick the best vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Re-Juvenated: 5 bedroom oceanfront classic beach home - Become Re-Juvenated! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If there's an individual Wrightsville Beach destination you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
