Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in the Wrightsville Beach area. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing your Wrightsville Beach rental:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Waterfront Escape! 4BR\/2BA on Canal, Sleeps 14 – Boat & Family Ready! Holden has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
