Located in the heart of the peaceful and cozy Southport historic district, this comfortable room offers a unique experience to step back in time. There is so much to see and savor in historic Southport that you could park your car at the hotel for your entire stay and walk everywhere and get to experience a lot! You can take your own leisurely tour of the historic neighborhood that surrounds this hotel and view all the interesting fisherman's cottages and Victorian Era homes with plaques dating all the way back to the 1700s and 1800s. At the same time, you can take in the spectacular vistas of the mouth of the Cape Fear River and long range vistas of Bald Head Island and Caswell Beach with the Oak Island Lighthouse. We highly recommend taking this leisurely tour around sunset when you can not only experience the spectacular sunset over the water, but also witness these old homes as the lights come on at nighttime with covered front porches set up like outdoor living rooms, table lamps glowing and people sitting around talking as nighttime falls.
