Strategies for getting the perfect Oak Island vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Wrightsville Beach area. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the bestrental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Yacht View: Serene, Dog-friendly Home on Intracoastal Waterway has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach destination you crave, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
