Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit Wilmington & When to book:

  • To find the best value, shift your family's Wrightsville Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing your prefectrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family select a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Wilmington Family Vacation Home has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
