Located in the Wilmington Downtown Historic District , the Antebellum House is loaded with appeal and elegance. Our goal in offering this suite to you is to bring you the character and history of our home , while still giving you modern amenities and comfort.

Throughout this first floor suite you will find the charm of a home constructed ten years before the Civil War, such as handsome plaster crown molding and original well maintained wood floors, while being upgraded to give you modern conveniences to help you relax and savor your time. This rental is for ground floor only... the home was converted to a duplex in the early 1900's. My wife and I stay upstairs for most of the year and it is never rented. The upstairs has a separate entrance and there are no shared spaces.

Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Wilmington. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the rightrental:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Walk downtown from this beautiful 1850 Antebellum home has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, email the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a particular Wrightsville Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
