How to get the best vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Oak Island. Reserve your Wrightsville Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the perfect rental in Oak Island:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The Surf Shack: Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway Views. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
