How to get the best rental home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and choosing the perfect Wrightsville Beach rental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Sun Skipper #10-E - Wonderful Ocean Views, Short walk to Carolina Beach Pier has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
