Tricks and tips to get the best Wrightsville Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Wrightsville Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the perfectrental home:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Summer Knights; 5 bed 6 bath house with amazing ocean views!! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
