Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Oak Island vacation home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Wrightsville Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the best Wrightsville Beach rental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. StringWray Cove: Great Ocean Views from this 2nd Row House has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
