Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • To find the best value, try shifting your family's Wrightsville Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Something Beachy: Spacious Condo in the Heart of Oak Island has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Wrightsville Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Tips for a great stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
