Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Wrightsville Beach vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Slice of Paradise, Oceanfront & Boardwalk views has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
