Tricks and tips to get the perfect Wrightsville Beach rental home experience:

When to visit Oak Island & When to reserve a Oak Island rental home:

  • Summer is high season in the Wrightsville Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and choose the rightvacation home:

  • First, have your group commit to dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sea View: Oceanview Condo that Comfortably Accommodates up to Twelve has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wrightsville Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's an individual Wrightsville Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
