How to book the best Oak Island rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Wrightsville Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wrightsville Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sandpiper: Oceanfront Home on West Beach with Deck and Covered Porch. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
