Rental booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Wrightsville Beach area:

  • Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Dates available in July! has 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Wrightsville Beach destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
