This handsome refreshed Nantucket inspired bungalow in Surfmans Walk is located in the maritime forest, just a short East Beach, the most trendy beach on BHI. It is also a short walk (and even shorter golf cart ride) to Shoals Club, The Commons Park, Bald Head Island Conservancy and miles of cycling, hiking and walking trails. Your hosts, Catherine and Brian, make sure you have everything you need to have a gorgeous beach vacation.

The two screened porches and tree-canopied patio with fresh salt air and the sounds of relaxing surf in the distance offer a ideal backdrop to read, drink a glass of wine, prepare out, have your morning coffee and relax with family. The back screened porch has a pretty swinging bed and directly accesses a boardwalk complete with ancient oaks, Spanish moss and a community gazebo. Outdoor deck is outfitted with gas grille and comfortable seating. Al fresco dining is available in the screened-in porch and the deck.

This home provides additional privacy as each bedroom has it’s own bathroom and intelligent TV. There are two bedrooms in the main home. The master bedroom has a king bed. The other bedroom in the main home has 3 twin beds (2 twins and a trundle). There is also a detached tree-home style guest bungalow over the garage, which provides additional privacy with a queen-sized bed, intelligent TV and ensuite full bathroom. The crofter being detached from the home gives the guests added privacy and peaceful.

Cottage is well outfitted with all the amenities of a calming beach vacation—WiFi, 2 golf carts (6-person and 4-person), heated outdoor shower, 6 beach chairs, 4 cruiser bicycles, cooler, bed linens, bath towels, beach towels, beach umbrellas, sand toys, body boards, surf board, board games, books, puzzles, portable high chair, pack n’ play crib, Keurig and regular coffee makers, blender, crock pot and entirely supplied kitchen. Bicycle helmets are not supplied. Bicycle pump is in the garage.

Weekly units are Saturday-Saturday in summer. We will entertain shorter stays outside of the high season. Message me to discuss.

Our home has the option to purchase temporary memberships at Shoals Club (pool/restaurant/beach access/exercise center) AND Bald Head Island Club (golf/tennis/pool/restaurant/croquet/exercise center). Not all homes have access to both clubs. Shoals Club is closest to the home (5 min. walk), oceanfront and offers pools, dining, bars, exercise center and beach access. Bald Head Island club offers golf, tennis, croquet, dining, pools, park and water slide. Both clubs offer beautiful vistas and superb food. Photos of the clubs are included in the photos for our home.

If playing golf on vacation is important to you, then you need to rent a home that provides the option for a golf membership to BHI Club. This home provides this option.

Another benefit of our home is having 2 golf carts—4-person and 6-person. 2 carts enable groups to separate for the many different activities the island has to offer.

Amazing eateries, a spa, and a completely supplied market are mins. away from this quintessential Bald Head beach bungalow.

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Cape Fear Station, a neighborhood in Bald Head Island. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Wrightsville Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.

  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it.
