Our top Wrightsville Beach rental property booking tips:
Sticking to your budget:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is high season in Wilmington. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Wrightsville Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect rental in the Wrightsville Beach area:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Paris at The Cove - in Port City Marina, Wilmington NC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
