  • Summer time is high season in Oak Island. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • In the Wrightsville Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses.   • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
