Our top Bald Head Island vacation rental home tips:

When to visit Bald Head Island & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summertime is high season in Bald Head Island. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • First, have your group agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. HappiNest - Newly Remodeled in '24 Waterfront @Timbercreek, Community Pool, Kayaks, DogsOK, BHI Club has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a certain Wrightsville Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
