Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wrightsville Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to select the best vacation rental in Carolina Beach:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Southern Comfort - Expansive views of the ocean and beach! Newly renovated plus top grade linens! by RedAwning has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Advice for a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
