Our top Wrightsville Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in Carolina Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wrightsville Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wrightsville Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 0703 Atlantic Retreat by Atlantic Towers has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
