Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Wrightsville Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses.   • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.

  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
